May 2009 - Level 1 Park Shoots

So I recently wrapped up my competitive season and made the trek down to Colorado/Cali with Level 1 for their end of season Park Shoots in Copper and Mammoth. The weather didn't really co-operate in Colorado as much as I had hoped but our week in Mammoth was insane!!! I had never been there before and the guys at Mammoth did not dissapoint!! Big Thanks to Oren for looking after all of us. I don't have a lot of pictures from the trip cause I was skiing most of the time but I will post what I have and remember to check out Level 1's fall release "Refresh" to see the highlights!!!

December 10th 2008 - Grand Prix Snowboard Fan Day

So the two new honorary Team Canada members on our trip are Alex and Sarah... two boarder babes that competed today in the Grand Prix event at Copper mountain. We thought it appropriate to go out and support them to the best of our ability... these pictures are evidence of what went down:

December 7th, 2008 - Grenoble Freestyle Battle

This weekend I was in France for a Team Big Air event in Grenoble France. It was 4 teams... Dynastar, Rossi, Coreupt and Salomon (results in that order) with five riders per team. Team Dynastar was Myself, Arnaud Rougier, Antoine Diet, Loic Collomb-Patton and Sam Favret. Each rider got 3 jumps (one style, one technical and one oldschool) and all three jumps of every rider counted towards the overall score of the team.

November 25, 2008 - Team Reunion
So i'll start out by saying that Sarah Burke is the biggest celebrity I know (NAME DROP!) and although she recently bailed on Team Canada in order to spend time in Brazil she is NOT irreplaceable! Today we managed to replace her!... and I bring you a team picture as proof:

November 24, 2008 - Skiing Sucks!
Today I got the opportunity to see through the eyes of a skiing hating snowboarder... it was my first day ever boarding and those damn skiiers kept bombing by me! I will forever be a changed man...haha

October 21 , 2008 - Icer Air
I just got back from Icer Air in San Francisco. The event was super fun and they put us up in the Westin St. Francis in the ritz-y part of town next to Chanel and Gucci. Unfortunately, because of the troubled economy sponsors pulled some funding for the event and the epic scaffold jump from last year had to be scrapped and a "Catapult" brought in and the jump was transformed into a right-facing hip. This limited the tricks that were "doable" and this was not the end of the problems. A strike by the union workers the day before the event prevented enough snow from being blown and the jump was not anywhere near done when we showed up for training. The event staff killed it tho... and we were sessioning soon after... BUT the thin snow quickly melted and it became apparent a finals at 6pm was not going to happen. As an athlete collective, we voted to have a demonstration instead of a comp and split the prize money. We also agreed to take 5 grand for the Best Trick to ensure there was still a competitive side and ensure a fun event for both spectators and athletes. All in all the staff at Icer did everything they could to make sure the event went off even in these trying times. Big ups to Elisa for looking after all of us!! Looking forward to next year and hoping the sponsor money comes back in to make this event the premier US city Big Air event it has been in the past.

August , 2008 - Summer Camp Update

What's up... I need to get more on it with updates. I just got back from a summer coaching at Momentum ski camps... it was sick! For everyone that came I know you understand what I mean and anyone that didn't should definately start saving now and make the trip next year.
